We've known Kristy and her family since she was a small child so when the call came to photograph her wedding, we were thrilled to be asked and so excited for her . I (Fran) knew Kristy to be a strong young woman with a passion for family and her community. The fact that she is employed in an area which involves youth is no surprise.
Christian had to be a nice bloke if Kristy was to marry him and Bazz and I were keen to meet him and his family.
As with all weddings, Bazz meets with the groom (Christian in this instance) and his attendants, Best Man, groomsmen to photograph their preparation. Bazz likes to photograph the guys in a way and in an environment where they feel relaxed and comfortable. In this case, after some discussion, becoming aware that Christian is most at home at the wheel of the local Prawn Boat he skippers. This proved to be a unique and relevant back drop for several of the Groom and Groomsmen photographs.
Kristy had chosen to get dressed at English Rose Cottage and it was a hive of activity when I (Fran) arrived.
Tracy Wright from Evoke Haircutters had worked her magic on the girls and they were now having the finishing touches of make up by the gorgeous and talented Carly Coleman and Annie Hage.
Kristy and Christian travelled to St Mary of the Angels Church in Port Lincoln in vintage cars.
Father Steve Ardell was the officiating Priest and took the couple through their vows while family and friends also gave readings.
The reception at the Croatian Club was a fun filled family affair with lots of laughs. Guests enjoyed a delicious Damien Mrdjen buffet while the Marksmen turned up the dance music. The wedding cake was a Sugar Daisy Cakes sensation. Smoke filled the floor for a dreamy first dance and it was time to enjoy the celebrations.
Here is a short video we have put together of some of the special moments.
